School Registration Prep

The Tinker Air Force Base School Liaison Officer (SLO) is a community facilitator: connecting schools, families, and community services to address education issues impacting military children. The School Liaison provides a wide variety of services in include, but not limited to:

• Promotes Communication and Collaboration between school, military organizations, community services, students and parents
• Advises Installation Commander on matters relating to schools and military child education
• Assists to resolve issues when they cannot be resolved through the proper chain of command
• Provides information on the Free and Reduced School Lunch Program, school enrollment, and school advisory councils
• Provides transition assistance and information for families moving to (base)
• Provides outbound referral information about schools and SLO contact for your gaining installation

One of the strengths of the School Liaison program are the connections made with parents and local school districts. SLOs work together to provide consistent support for families and students.

In addition, they are connected to the broader network of multi-service SLOs around Oklahoma.  So, no matter where your military service takes you next, they are able to help your family make a positive school transition.

Your installation's School Liasion Office can help you explore all of your options to make the right decision for you and your child.

There are no Department of Defense Education Activity  (DoDEA) schools located on Tinker Air Force Base. Please contact the School Liasion Office for more information. 

The Oklahoma City Metropolitan area has many school districts avilable. For school district information, please contact the School Liasion Office. The SLO can assist in helping parents by providing information prior to and upon arrival at a new duty installation. The SLO connects families to local school districts in order to facilitate education transition and ensure the best acedemic experience for military children.
